Job Title I & C Engineer Reports to: Chief I & C Engineer Position Summary The I & C Engineer position researches, plans and designs instrumentation and controls components and systems and coordinates activities involved in design, fabrication, installation and repair of I&C components and systems. Sizing of components/control dials are a desired skill for this position Key Areas of Responsibility · Development of P&ID · Creates Control and Logic diagrams · Creates Combustion control strategy and Burner Management Systems for oxidation and furnace systems · Generates instrumentation data sheets, wiring diagrams, sequence of operations, control panel design, control logic diagrams and computer control software · Coordinates the overall design recognizing the requirements of other disciplines such as process and mechanical engineering · Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate Required Skills · Knowledge of various equipment, engineering practices, mathematics, materials and other physical sciences to complete electrical/instrumentation/piping drawings · Formal training in operating AutoCAD, Intergraph PDS and SmartPlan software · Working knowledge of applicable technical software programs · Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes · Effective communication skills both written and verbal · Effective analytical and problem-solving skills · Knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD applications · Working knowledge of respective Industry Codes/Standards including ISA standards, NFPA and NEC · Working knowledge of chemistry, ratio/control and control/burner operations Education/Experience · Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering · Minimum of 3 years working experience
