Position Summary:
The qualified candidate will join a team designing and developing our next generation user interface for Avid’s video and audio editing applications. He/She will design, refine and implement features to produce an application with high usability for the targeted customers. Will also develop new capabilities for our user interface framework. The team will operate in a fast paced, dynamic development environment to get a product to market quickly. The qualified candidate will write cross-platform code in C++ for the MS Windows and Macintosh systems.

Desired Skills:
• Strong object-oriented design skills.
• Strong understanding of C++.
• Able to write large amounts of high quality code that is robust, modular, extensible and maintainable.
• Experience with graphical user interface (GUI) frameworks.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Either Mac or PC development experience (ideally both).
• Experience developing and shipping large applications.
• Multimedia, video, or audio experience a plus.
• Trolltech’s Qt framework experience a plus.

Candidate must communicate well, be flexible and self-motivated, and work well in a collaborative environment.

Education: BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
