Candidate Sought

The Statutory Accounting and Compliance Team require a strong financial accountant to assist with the following tasks:

Prepare quarterly reporting in line with group timetable
Respond to queries on quarterly reporting from group
Monitor accounting issues to ensure treatment is in line with appropriate accounting standards
Review new accounting issues and propose accounting treatment decisions for review with senior management in consultation with Group accounting team
Ensure that all appropriate year end accounting reviews are completed in advance of year end e.g. FRS15 review, Goodwill assessment
Develop an early view of any required year end adjustments
Identify and resolve all accounting issues internally in advance of year end
Preparation of National Statistics returns
Liaise with tax team as required
Assist tax team in completion of CT packs
Preparation of Statutory Financial Statements at the year end

The successful candidate will report to the Financial Accounting Manager and will be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

o Management of work to deadlines

o Strong communications skills

o Experience of preparing statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP

o Some knowledge of IFRS

o Ability to influence members of management

o Problem solving skills

o Resolving complex financial accounting issues
